While Liberia was on the rise Ebola showed up on their doorstep in March of 2014. Unfortunately, it did not go away quietly and turned into a full blown epidemic by the summer of 2014 that raged on for many months. Village to village it brought fear and horror. Many children were killed and many children were left behind to care for themselves. As Ebola was wreaking havoc Orphan Aid, Liberia stepped in and still today cares for over 400 children affected by Ebola.
Ebola is a virus that causes severe bleeding, organ failure, and can lead to death.
